| Sales increased over the preceding year with oil pipe sales increased thanks to rising oil price though competition is intense with excessive supply of cold-rolled steel sheet. Operating loss decreased with reduced sales and admin expenses while sales cost ratio is reduced by increased sales. Net profit is posted with non-operating income increased as operating loss decreased while gains increased from sale of investment shares and currency translation. |
| Sales will grow further with demand growing in downstream automotive and shipbuilding industries while CR coil price is raised because of rising world steel prices. Profit growth will be limited with expenses increasing with borrowings for investment in electric furnace though HR price hike has been attributed to product selling prices. Profit structure will improve as materials will be produced in house with 2.5 million ton electric furnace being installed to produce HR coil. |
